Donna Ayesh

After graduating from Penn State University in 1976, Donna Ayesh worked for three years as a registered pediatric nurse at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, followed by nine years at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.
Upon moving to Hendersonville, NC in 1988, Donna became a homemaker, caring for two young sons while putting into frequent use the sewing skills she had learned since childhood. An opportunity to do wholesale work for a local workroom led to the establishment in 1994 of Creative Elegance, Donna’s in-home, one-person workroom. In 1997 Donna became associated with Calico Corners; her work presently involves catalog photo shoots, corporate displays, and district store displays. Donna also does occasional retail work for referred clients.
After being recommended by a classmate from Cheryl Strickland’s Window Treatment Fabrication classes, Donna was invited in 2002 to develop and teach the Academy’s All About Pillows and Bed Treatment Fabrication classes. Donna has also taught at the CHF Conference and Weekend Academies, and has written articles for CHF magazine. She gives presentations to local WCAA chapters, and recently became the co-coordinator of that organization’s newly established Western Carolinas chapter.
